A test sieve is an instrument which is used for the measurement of particle size. In its most common form it consists of a woven wire screen, with square apertures, rigidly mounted in a shallow cylindrical metal frame. For coarse sieving a perforated plate screen with square or round holes may be used in place of wire mesh. Square hole perforated plate sieves range down to 4 mm and round hole sieves down to 1 mm aperture. The sizes of solid particles from 125 mm down to 20 µm can be measured rapidly and efficiently by means of standard test sieves. Special sieves with apertures smaller than 20 µm are available, but it should be appreciated that the finer a screen is, the more easily will certain types of particulate solids tend to block or blind the apertures. Nevertheless, ‘micro’ sieving can be carried out down to 5 µm using special techniques. Particle size, as measured by test sieving, may be specified simply by quoting two sieve sizes, one through which the particles have passed, and the other on which they are retained
The Slump test method is used for the determination of the consistency, medium and high workability of fresh concrete. The Portable Slump Cone Test Set includes all tools necessary to conduct a slump test on a sample of freshly mixed concrete.
Comprises: The set comprises of slump cone, slump cone funnel, tamping rod which is hemispherical at both ends, base plate, rubber mallet and steel rule. Supplied either galvanized or paint coated to prevent corrosion.
Concrete test molds made of plastic composites due to lightweight and less expensive, alternative forms of iron are presents. Have metal blade to avoid transformation, body with vertical and diagonal gride for increase strength.
The apparatus consists of a hard rubber base carrying bracket which houses the sliding carriage assembly and the cam which is fitted to a handle through the shaft. The apparatus is operated by hand. A revolution counter is fixed to the cam-shaft. This arrangement is for automatic counting of the number of blows given to the bowl during the test. The bowl which is fitted, on a follower block, is adjusted by means of screw which alters horizontally the position of the sliding carriage. The movement allows the drop of the bowl to be adjusted to 1cm with the help of the gauge block (Gauge block is supplied separately along with Casagrande grooving tools. Gauge block is an integral part of the ASTM grooving tool which can be had at extra cost). When this is achieved, sliding carriage is locked with the locking screws. Whole assembly is mounted on a rubber base.
